20 Things to Make Your Transit in Singapore Changi Airport Exciting

When I was still in college back to 4 years ago, I had a chance to have a student visit to study about architecture in Singapore. One of the buildings was Changi Airport Terminal 3. It was that time just opened for 1 year. I spent almost a day discovering the features of Changi Airport which helped me know a lot more as I had to write the report paper afterwards for student’s task.

Now, every time I land in Singapore, I always get excited because it feels like a whole new modern era is saying hello to me when I arrive in Changi. Changi Airport really has many things to see and do which make you will never be bored during your transit. Singapore is one of those countries in Southeast Asia which has an airport that offers so many connecting flights to other destinations. Especially passengers who want to go to European countries or America usually will have layover in Singapore. But if you have a connecting flight and have to spend several hours transit in Changi Airport.

For a start, you have to know which airline you are flying on to find out which terminal you will be landing or boarding. Changi Airport has 3 terminals :

 1. Easy Connecting Terminal
The three terminals are all connected by sky train for free, navigating the airport is incredibly easy with the clear sign wherever you look.

2. Cactus Garden
Visit the rooftop garden to enjoy over 100 species of cacti and succulents from Africa and Americas. This is an excellent place to take photos!

3. Swimming Pool and Jacuzzi
Say what ?? yess !! swimming pool and Jacuzzi, with only SGD 17, passengers can use the pool, Jacuzzi, and the shower. Now you’ll definitely get fresh for the next flight !

4. Sunflower Garden
This is the place where I probably would spend for couple hours. Everytime i see sunflowers, I always take selfies with them. How about you? Are you ready to take selfie with this yellow beauty?

5. Playing Xbox and Kinect at the Entertainment Deck
For the game lovers, you’ll be very much spoiled by all of these games facilities. Enjoy it all for free!

6. TranSpa and Salon
It’s not impossible anymore to get your new hair cut before your next meeting. Head to 3rd floor of terminal 2, then you’ll get more fresh with the treatments offered by some salon and transpa. Remember to book an appointment.

7. Butterfly Garden
You will see about 1,000 tropical butterflies from as many as 40 species during the different seasons of the year.

8. The Slide @T3
The slide is not even for kids only!! But also for adults for maximum 2.0 meter tall. Whizz down The Slide@T3, the world's tallest slide in an airport. At 12 metres high (4 storeys tall), shriek your way down while reaching speeds of up to 6 metres per second! For every S$10 spent at Changi Airport in a single receipt, visitors can redeem one ride at the Terminal 3 Level 1 Information Counter. My fastest timing is xx seconds. Tell me how fast you manage to slide down (Excludes money changing facilities, medical clinics, top-up card and Crowne Plaza Hotel receipts. Or  if you don’t want to pay for S$10, you can do it for free.

9. Transit Hotel (T1,T2,T3)
In every terminal, there are transit hotel for you to relax before your next flight.

10. Free to use Rest Areas (T1,T2,T3)
For the short transit, people can use the rest areas that available in all terminals for free. There are sofa and some relax chair to take a nap.

11. Shower Room and Spa in Lounge (T1,T2,T3)
Need a shower? You can use the shower and room facilities in the lounge

12. Kids Playground (T1,T2,T3)
I am pretty sure kids would be very happy with these complimentary facilities that you can find in all terminals.

13. Movie Theater (T2, T3)
Are you a movie freak ? Now you can watch some of the latest movies at the airport. Yess Changi Airport has the movie theater, how cool is that, isn’t it ?

To all mothers, don’t be worried, you still can take care your little babies.

The best facilities, as I experienced by myself, wifi in Changi Airport is fast enough to browsing, it really helps people who work as a freelance that can work everywhere like me.

16. Free Charging Points (T1,T2,T3)
In every corner of the lounge or waiting room, charging points will be available.

17. Shopping Center (T1,T2,T3)

19. Prayers Room (T1,T2,T3)
Available in every terminal :D Prayers rooms are easy to find. Just keep your eye on the direction signs. Prayer rooms are usually located close to Rest Room

20. Free Singapore City Tour (T1,T2,T3)
This is very interesting, if you have couple hours at least like 6 hours transit in Changi Airport, you can enjoy the free Singapore city tour provided by the airport.sTour will be going for 2,5 hours with 2 kind of options ;
1.   Culture Tour – This city tour will bring you to see the history of Singapore in the heritage building area with a stop at Merlion Park and Glam Village
2.   City Tour – City tour will get you be amazed of how modern and metropolis Singapore city center is. The stop will be at Merlion Park, Singapore Flyer, Esplanade, and Gardens By The Bay.

To join this trip, you can sign up at registration stand in transit area, please stay in transit area and don’t go out to pass the immigration.
Okay, How many hours you have to transit in Changi Airport ? 2 hours, 3 hours  or even 5 hours ?
